Boot Spotting 14th November

While the miCoach adiZero was the most talked about boot of the weekend, there was still loads of decent spots out there this week! Futbol Blog ET compiled the best spots to make our boot spotting article the only thing that makes your Monday bearable.

This weekend was possibly one of the best weekends for boot spotting as new boots and colourways hit the field for the first time across the globe. The biggest news was arguably the global rollout of the new Adidas AdiZero MiCoach boots but they were joined by a host of other great looking new boots.
We could have devoted a few posts to just showcasing the new AdiZero as so many players switched to the new ‘smart boots’. Of all the players to wear the High Energy/Electricity/White colourway, Craig Bellamy arguably looked the best in them as the colourway matched his red Wales kit.

It was no surprise to us to see David Villa in the alternate Black/Electricity/Warning colourway. Villa will have to wear this colourway in La Liga as Messi has exclusive wearing rights to the High Energy/Electricity/White colourway in Spain.

The leather version proved a popular choice as many players opted for them over the synthetic version. Luuk De Jong was one of the players who went for the comfort of the Leather version.

Jozy Altidore was another player who opted for the leather upper instead of the synthetic version. With Adidas dropping the ‘Prime’ version players now only have to chose between the two uppers this time.

A host of players wore a black-out version of the new AdiZero during the Champions League last week. Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller was one of them but was in the launch colourway for Germany this weekend.

Mathieu Debuchy was one a few French players to wear the new boots this weekend. Debuchy wore the High Energy/Electricity/White colourway and also opted for the leather upper.

Adidas were also showing off their new AdiPower Predator colourway this weekend. Phil Jagiaelka had a great game for England as they beat Spain at Wembley wearing the new Black/Warning/White colourway.

Daniele De Rossi has been an avid Predator wearer for years and the Italian put in another good display for Italy in the new AdiPower Predator colourway.

It wasn’t all about Adidas this weekend however. Boot spot favorite Jon Walters scored for Rep. of Ireland in the new Puma PowerCat 1.12 which was finally rolled out globally.

Along with the new PowerCat Puma also released their new Yellow/Purple V1.11 colourway. We were surprised at how few players switched to the new colourway this weekend. South Africa skipper Steven Pienaar wore the new colourway which matched his Puma kit perfectly.

Another boot to get a new colourway is the Mizuno Wave Ignitus II which Japan’s Maya Yoshida wore. We must say that this Pearl/Black/Gold is one of the classiest looking colourways we have seen.

Phil Jones (England) – Puma PowerCat 1.12

Another boot switch, but perhaps not quite as publicised as some of the boot swaps we’ve seen this year. Despite being a loyal Puma King wearer, Phil Jones has now opted for the new PowerCat 1.12 as England overcame a resilient Spanish team. Actually, now is the time to be arrogant, we beat the world champions!

Loic Remy (France) – Puma V1.08

It seems like I’ve got a lot of Puma spots today, but it’s just been that sort of weekend! While Remy’s V1.08s aren’t as old as the V1.06 spot above, Remy has still done a good job keeping them in the fine condition that they appear to be in!
