Wiki(Boot)Leaks: Puma PowerCat 1.12 Colorway

After a year or so of hiatus, Puma have suddenly burst back onto the football scene with the release of the V1.11 and PowerCat 1.12. Not only that, they’ve backed it up with the big name signings of Cesc Fabregas, Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure. While we already know of the White/Blue and Black/White PowerCat colourways, we’re now giving a new colourway it’s Soccer Reviews debut.

Even though the Black/White/Green and White/Blue/Gold PowerCat will be around for the next 4 months or so, we haven’t seen any of the boots that will be worn by the players leading up to EURO 2012. That is until we came across the new Blue/Red/White colourway.

The Puma PowerCat 1.12 is of course the boot of choice of Barcelona and Spanish superstar Cesc Fabregas, and these are the boots that we expect him to to be wearing around late March to early April. Puma drastically changed the PowerCat when it was released earlier this year as they looked to combine both power and control in the same boot while slimming things down at the same time. The upper is divided into two sections, k-leather near the front of the foot for touch and synthetic leather at the midfoot to keep things nice and light.

While the colourway itself isn’t too bad, I can’t help but think that the boot shares a few similarities with the Predator Blue/White/Red adidas Predator X that was released in January last year. With an expected release of March next year, the boot would prove to be a great match with dark kits like Inter, Man Utd’s away kit and arguably Barcelona’s kit.
