WIKI-BOOTS: PUMA EVO-SPEED QUICK SPECS

Puma were the company to watch in 2011, an impressive array of new signings combined with some quality boots signalled their intent to regain top spot in the football boot industry. This year doesn’t seem to be much different as they are slated to release a new speed boot, the EvoSpeed 1 and today we exclusively have the specs of Puma’s newest creation.

EvoSpeed is not only the name of a football boot, but also the name of Puma’s cross platform speed campaign. At least 10 sports will receive an EvoSpeed of their own and each sport will have their own EvoSpeed ambassador (Sergio Aguero is the one for football). The EvoSpeed 1 (the football boot) is expected to drop before Euro 2012, while other EvoSpeed footwear will make their debut at other sporting events such as the Olympics.
The EvoSpeed 1 looks set to be a great addition to the extremely competitive speed boot market. Available with either a K-Leather and synthetic microfiber upper, the EvoSpeed will feature Puma’s Everfit support system that can already be found on their running shoes. Everfit “allows for ease of momvement while keeping the foot stable” and should be a great new feature. Puma have developed a new one piece outsole that along with the mix of conical and bladed studs should provide great traction on FG surfaces.
All these things combined with an external heel counter and what has been touted as an extremely light weight (we don’t have any numbers, yet) all make for impressive reading. The EvoSpeed 1 will retail at $199.99 US, $20 cheaper than the V1.11 SL.
